EA Architects Studio was commissioned by a creative Mount Maunganui family who adore the beach and needed extra space. Our task was to design a studio in their backyard that not only served their expanding needs but also harmonised with its coastal setting.

This 41m2 studio features a versatile layout, including a large storage area, an open-plan space with a bed, desk, kitchenette, and bathroom.

Embracing a quintessential Kiwi design, we incorporated weatherboards and natural vertical shiplap timber to blend seamlessly with the existing dwelling on site. This modern yet classic approach ensures that the studio complements its coastal surroundings while providing functional, stylish space.
